Please take a minute out of your day to watch thirty bales of grass hay being dumped from Cliff’s epic antique Ford dump truck from the forties:
I saw this post from Tokopa this morning:
I have many Iching books—but here’s a brief interpretation, from whom I refer to as ‘Uncle Brian’:
One of my favorite books is one called the light inside the dark — Tarrant brings together ancient Eastern traditions and the Western passion for the soul. Using real-life stories, Zen tales, and Greek myths, The Light Inside the Dark shows how our darkest experiences can be the gates to wisdom and joy. Tarrant leads us through the inevitable descents of our journey — from the everyday world of work and family into the treasure cave of the interior life — from which we return with greater love of life's vivid, common gifts. Written with empathy and a poet's skill, The Light Inside the Dark is the freshest and most challenging work on the soul to he published in years.
So, I’ve been thinking about the return to the light — darkness, and all that it encompasses (what is hidden, what is being bypassed, shadow, etc.), is such fertile soil when it’s actually used as such — so much light can come from it when we get honest and real about it — when we own it, individually and collectively
This world, country, family, individual has buried trauma and darkness — how can we fully own our own shadows? how can each one of us bring the dark into the light? what can we learn from the past? how can we best go forth into the light of Spring?
I’m now at the crux of my healing process — and I promise to gift back to the world all that I’m learning about myself, modern homesteading, music, art, and eventually a CSA for flowers and honey!
I’m excited to bring the bees to the farm this Spring, and to finish the greenhouse in order to begin to professionally grow flowers
In the meantime, the Winter season is now upon us — as uncle Brian said, it’s time to relinquish the expressions of ego — allow yourself to rest and gather strength for a time of growth ahead — by holding to modesty, gentleness, and correct conduct, you prepare the ground for a fruitful blossoming when the light fully returns
Wishing everyone a healthy, peaceful, and honest Winter ❄️
